Questions

Questions we hear at the front desk

Do you only take veterans?

No. About half our clients are veterans; the rest are workers in Bexar County and nearby who need Social Security disability or SSI.

What should I bring to the first meeting?

Your most recent letter from the VA or Social Security, a list of your doctors and clinics, and your DD-214 if you served. If you don't have them, we can request most records for you.

How much does it cost to talk to you?

Nothing. The first conversation is free, and you don't sign anything until you decide to work with us.

How are your fees paid?

Only from back pay you win, at amounts the law sets for Social Security and VA claims. You may still owe small costs like record copies, and we ask before spending any.

Can you come to me?

Yes, when travel is hard. We meet clients at home across Bexar County, and by phone or video anywhere in Texas.

How long does a claim take?

It depends on the stage. A first Social Security decision often takes months, and a hearing can take a year or more to schedule. We'll give you an honest estimate for yours.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Lorenza Villarreal and two of our staff speak Spanish, and we can hold meetings and hearings in it.

Will working with you slow down my claim?

No. We file on the same deadlines, and a complete file usually moves faster than a thin one.

A question we didn't answer?

Ask us directly. A lawyer or paralegal will get back to you.
